(MONROE, WA.) -- All the big stars will be there, including those who always wear sunglasses because their futures are so bright they just have to wear shades.
Yes indeed, they're flying in from all over the fruited plains of this great nation and from points even more distant to hold up their smartphones and Live Stream the first annual Monroe Chili Bowl which takes place Tuesday Jan. 31st.
The aromatic, taste-bud tingling event will be held from 5 pm to 7:30 pm at the East County Senior Center located at 276 Sky River Parkway, Monroe 98272.
You're welcome to come and sample a variety of chilis then cast your vote for your favorite bowl (of chili, not just the bowl itself).
Many local businesses will be competing for the coveted "Golden Spoon," award and that means a grand time will be had by all (or most).
To place your vote you can either place money in the bucket or bring canned food.
$1.00 = 1 vote or 1 can of food = 1 vote. There will also be cornbread, a beer garden and "chili survival packs" for sale. Didn't we tell you this was gonna be fun?
The event benefits the East County Senior Center, Sky Valley Food Bank, Monroe Boys & Girls Club and the Monroe Chamber of Commerce.
Be there or be obtuse dude.
But don't eat too much chili. Remember that old adage, "Beans beans the musical fruit, the more you eat the more you..."
