(SNOHOMISH, WA.) -- The annual Snohomish Spring Cleanup Event takes place March 18 from 9 am to noon.

This is the day when community volunteers and city staffers roll up their sleeves, bring out their tools and cleaning gear to make the city look clean and bright for Spring.

The annual event is spearheaded by volunteers from local churches, schools and individual residents volunteering their time, talent and labor.

If you haven't yet volunteered, you can still do so the day of the event at 405 3rd Street in Snohomish.

Mike Johnson, Public Works Service Manager for the city said in a video describing the event, "The way this event benefits the city is, the city has so many different areas to maintain...and our crew is very small...this is the one event that helps us get ahead of things in the Spring and keep control of things throughout the rest of the year. Without this event we would never be able to get this stuff done."
