(OROVILLE, CA.) -- It was the worst fear come true for anyone who lives downstream of a major dam.

An estimated 180,000-plus people were ordered to evacuate along the Feather River in California Sunday afternoon after erosion brought fear that the emergency spillway at the big dam could fail and flood the area.
