Winter Storm Advisory Cascade Mountains

December 18, 2017

(SEATTLE, WA.) - The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory that is in effect from 10 am Monday (this) morning above 3500 feet and a winter storm WARNING from 6 pm tonight until 10 pm Tuesday above the 2500 foot elevation mark..

Snow is expected early this morning above 3500 feet with heavy snow expected tonight and Tuesday above 2500 feet, making vehicle travel "very difficult to impossible."

Two Bremerton Police Officers Shot
Suspect involved in police shootout, dead

Update Monday 12/18: Police say one of the officers, a 25 year veteran with the police department, was shot twice and hit in the stomach below his bulletproof vest. The other officer was hit with grazing bullet that injured his hip area. He was a released from the hospital Sunday morning.

(BREMERTON) -- At 3:54 am Sunday morning came the short statement from Bremerton Police: "Two BPD Officers are hospitalized with gunshot wounds after a 53 year old Bremerton man fired numerous shots at the officers. The officers returned fire and the suspect has been declared deceased at the scene. Incident occurred at Lebo-Hefner. No further info at this time."
