FOUNDER OF SNOHOMISH FAMILY MEDICAL CENTER PASSES

(SNOHOMISH, WA) -- The Sky Valley, and particularly residents of Snohomish, has lost a true renaissance man, a respected local and internationally known physician and founder of a well-known Sky Valley medical clinic in the passing of Dr. Leeon Aller at the age of 88.

AUTHORITIES SAY YOUNG GIRL STARVED BY STEPMOTHER

CARNATION, WA) -- None of the neighbors who lived near the small house in a cul-de-sac between Duvall and Carnation knew the home was a chamber of horrors for a 14-year old girl who authorities say was held in a concentration camp like environment, starved and abused for an extended period of time by her stepmother. The girl’s biological father who lived at the home in Carnation did not intervene in the abuse according to authorities.

ARLINGTON BOAT PLANT TO CLOSE: HUNDREDS LOSE JOBS

(ARLINGTON, WA) -- In an announcement that stunned hundreds of local boat manufacturing workers, one of Snohomish County’s largest employers has become a victim of the now worldwide financial crisis brought on by the sub prime mortgage meltdown. Meridian Yachts says it will close the doors at its 500,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Arlington within 60 days due to a dramatic decline in boat sales nationally.
