While watching Congress and the president wrangle over the fake crisis of raising the debt ceiling, the Department of Agriculture reported that 45.8 million Americans now receive food stamps to help purchase food.

That's one out of every seven Americans. In our state more than 1 million people now depend on food stamps -- almost one out of six.

Unfortunately, the record $32.4 billion 2011-13 budget passed last May will likely be adjusted downward based on lagging tax collections due to continued job losses and hesitant consumers.

It appears there will be no opposing statement in the voterís pamphlet for Proposition 3, the one sponsored by the city of Monroe that asks voters a rather goofy question about what they want to do in 2013 with the devil cameras from hell, not what they want to do with them now.

That opposing statement has been killed evidently. Went down in the boiling acid of bad blood and fiery-tongued arrows of insults.
