Father In Jefferson County Accidentally Runs Over His Toddler Son
With Truck

April 17, 2018

(CHIMACUM, WA) – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says a 2½-year-old boy was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries on Sunday after the boy was run over by his father’s truck in what appeared to be a tragic accident.

Sgt. Mark Apeland told the Peninsula Daily News the boy was run over by a front tire of his father’s Chevrolet Silverado on a relative’s property as his father was maneuvering the vehicle.

The boy had wandered into the front of the truck without him noticing and a front wheel of the vehicle ran over the child.

The boy was airlifted to the hospital after his father drove him to the field at Chimacum High School where it would be easier for first responders to treat him, according to the newspaper report.
