(NATIONAL) -- The attorneys for film star Jim Carrey, 55, claim Carrey's late girlfriend had had sexually transmitted diseases before she met him and used fake medical records to cover that fact up in an effort to extort millions of dollars from him, according to a report by The New York Daily News.

The story says Carrey's legal team asserts that Cathriona White, who took her own life in September 2015, edited a friend's clean medical files that had been submitted to Planned Parenthood in 2013, by changing the name and date to appear to be her own from 2011, according to court documents filed Friday and obtained by the Daily News.
Items from the report:
.....The legal documents says Carrey alleges there are text messages that show White urging her friend to obtain her files from Planned Parenthood.
.......White allegedly says in the texts, "I need to see the layout ... I will need to work on it before I give it to him."
White's mother Brigid Sweetman, and her estranged husband, Mark Burton, are suing Carrey for wrongful death alleging that Carrey gave three STDs to White before she took her own life.
