BREAKING NEWS

Hey Seattle:
You're one of the healthiest cities in
the USA

February 13, 2018

Chronicle staff

News & expert analysis

(NATIONAL) – With health care costs rising and U.S. life expectancy declining for the second year in a row, those busy little beavers over at the personal-finance website WalletHub conducted an in-depth analysis of 2018’s Healthiest and Unhealthiest Cities in America.

And guess what? All you trendy, high paid, high-tech, have-lunch-in-the-Amazon-jungle-sphere boys and girls in Seattle who’ve driven up housing prices so high ya gotta be a bazillionaire to buy a World War 2 starter dump, have propelled the former Jet City into the top 5 of the healthiest cities in the You-S-Of-A.

That’s because all you folks in high tech have really, really good health care plans and don’t smoke and don't cuss and go to church on Sundays, ergo God is on your side. (There my be other reasons as well, hard to say about these things.)

To identify the places where health is a priority, those WalletHubbers compared more than 170 of the largest U.S. cities across 40 key metrics – ranging from the from cost of a doctor visit to fruit and vegetable consumption to fitness clubs per capita to how many of your employers have jungle spheres to hang out in. (Just kidding on the last one. Wanted to see if you were reading down this far)

Check it out dudes & dudettes.
