Iconic Seattle TV Sportscaster Bruce King passes away at 83

(SNOQUALMIE, WA.) -- If you were born and raised here in the Puget Sound area you know the name and face of Bruce King as well as your own.

King, who spent 31 years as the on-camera, Emmy award-winning sportscaster, Sports Director for KOMO-TV in Seattle has passed away at the age of 83, according to a report by KOMO-TV.

The story did not say how or where King died. The Seattle Times reported that King died from prostate cancer at his Snoqualmie Ridge home early Wednesday and that he had been under hospice care for two months.

King began his career in TV in 1960 in Eugene, Oregon. He was known for being a positive, upbeat, gregarious and truly happy man who was doing the job he loved.
