Phoenix Police say there were no signs of foul play in his death, the cause of which will be determined by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner.
It was discovered that Knight had posted to the internet an emotional, rather cryptic, six-minute video titled "I am Sorry Lord," hours before he was found dead.
Among other things, Knight said in the video that “Life is not a game, you can’t play around” and "I just feel like I don't belong here on Earth….so my time is up. I am Sorry Lord...I am lost in life and I feel like there is no hope.”
Knight’s death is the second one this this week involving an ex-Bruin. His death comes just days after 27-year-old Tyler Honeycutt, a former UCLA and Sacramento Kings basketball player fatally shot himself during an exchange of gunfire with police on Friday.
A Los Angeles native, Knight played for the Bruins from 1997 to 2002, averaging eight points and two rebounds per game. Accordeing to ESPN, “Knight started all 33 games in the 2001-02 campaign, but he never broke into the NBA, bouncing around the D-League and France and Japan after his college career.”
