(SEATTLE, WA.) – Seattle Police say a man in the city’s Loyal Heights neighborhood reported being stabbed by a stranger while standing outside his house in broad daylight Thursday.
“Police responded to a report of a stabbing just before 11:00 am near NW 80th Street and 24th Avenue NW. Officers located a 35-year-old male with an injury to his shoulder,” said a police statement. “Officers performed first aid to stop the bleeding and then turned over the treatment to Seattle Fire.”
The injured man told officers he was “stabbed by an unknown male in the shoulder while he was standing outside of his house, located in the 8300 block of 24th Avenue Northwest.”
He told officers he ran away after the assault. He met up with police at the corner of NW 80th and 24th NW. The officers went to the location where the assault allegedly occurred and interviewed the occupants of the residence there and they told the officers “they were unaware of any disturbance that may have occurred outside.”
The injured man was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his injury. Officers searched the area for a possible suspect but didn’t not locate any.
Detectives are handling the follow-up investigation. Police did not release a description of the man with the blade.
