Man shot by sheriff’’s deputy in Granite Falls

(GRANITE FALLS, WA.) – A law enforcement SMART team, made up of multiple agencies, is investigating an officer involved shooting last night in which one man was injured near Granite Falls.
KOMO-TV news reported that a 34-year old man, reported to be suicidal, was shot and badly injured by a Snohomish County Sheriff's deputy about 8:30 pm after being alerted by a friend of the man that he was suicidal.
The TV station report said a friend called 911 and officers located the man’s vehicle at a winter road closure gate on the Mountain Loop Highway.
An unspecified encounter took place between the man and one of three deputies who responded, that deputy fired multiple rounds and the man was badly wounded and was eventually airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, condition unknown.
The report said no one else was injured.
