(SNOHOMISH, WA.) -- One woman died and one man was injured in a head-on crash Saturday near Snohomish.

The Washington State Patrol says the crash occurred just after 3:00 pm on State Route 2 about one mile north of Snohomish.

The patrol report says a white 2006 Kia Rio Hatchback was eastbound on State Route 2 just west of State Route 9 and two other vehicles - a black 2003 Suzuki Aerio Sedan and a white 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan - were westbound on SR 2 when for reasons unknown the Kia crossed over into the westbound lanes and crashed into the black Suzuki sedan.

Killed was the driver of the Kia identified by the patrol as Glorita D. McIntyre , 78, of Mountlake Terrace, Washington.

Injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center was the driver of the Suzuki sedan identified as 31-year old August L. Giaccaglia of Seattle.

Not injured was the driver of the Dodge Caravan identified as Anna Douglass-Ausberger, 35, of Lake Stevens, Washington and an 11-year old passenger in the Caravan.

The state patrol says the cause of the accident is under investigation. It was unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.
