National Police Week events in Seattle
May 15, 2018

(SEATTLE, WA.) – Sunday night the Seattle Police Department kicked off National Police Week at the West Precinct with a Candlelight Vigil to honor the city’s fallen officers.

Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best released the following statement about events taking place today and tonight.

“As we join law enforcement across the country in paying tribute,  I wanted to make sure you were aware of the remaining events taking place locally.  A special thank you to our Honor Guard and the Seattle Police Foundation for their assistance in making these events possible:

On Tuesday, May 15th at 11:00 am there will be a Seattle Police Memorial Ceremony at City Hall Plaza on 4th Avenue.  The event is open to the public.

On Tuesday night, at 7:00 pm, the Seattle Mariners will honor Seattle Police before their game at Safeco Field.  Our Honor Guard will present the colors at the game, and I will have the honor of joining them on the field and throwing out the first pitch.

I look forward to seeing everyone during Police Week.”
