Police Investigate Man's Death Involving Everett Transit Bus And A Car
March 20, 2018

(EVERETT, WA.) – Detectives with the Everett Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit are investigating a fatal collision that killed a man in Everett last Friday, March 16.

Police say the man died after he was hit by an Everett Transit bus in the 8100 block of Broadway Avenue at about 10:00 pm that night. Arriving units performed CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The roadway was closed for about two hours while detectives with the Traffic Safety Unit investigated.

"Initial video surveillance indicates the man exited a black 4-door sedan that had stopped alongside the road," said a police statement. "As he attempted to re-enter the vehicle, it drove off and knocked him into the roadway and path of the bus. The sedan continued southbound on Broadway Ave and left the area."

Detectives located that sedan in Mukilteo where they interviewed the female driver and are working to clarify why the car stopped alongside the road then drove off and left the scene.

Identification of the man, as well as cause and manner of death, will be determined by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
