(LYNNWOOD, WA.) -- A Lynnwood man is in jail on charges he raped women he met in drug recovery programs.
Prosecutors allege Vincent McPherson, 32, raped the women over a period of months using the tactic of befriending women in the programs while appearing to be understanding and sympathetic of their situations.
KOMO-TV in Seattle reported that police began investigating McPherson in late February after four women came forward to tell police what had happened to them.
McPherson is accused of raping at least eight women, many of them young and recently sober. One woman said McPherson appeared to be a spiritual man and had an impressive story of sobriety which drew her in, according to the report.
He was arrested for suspicion of one count of second-degree rape and three counts of third-degree rape.
