Search called off for man who vanished in woods in Grays Harbor County

(ABERDEEN, WA.) – The Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s Office has called off the search for a man who vanished in the woods in Grays Harbor County on Wednesday night April 18.
The search for Brandon Brown, 34, was called off after two days of scouring the area by numerous searchers both on the ground and in the air found no trace of Brown, according to a report by KBKW radio in Aberdeen.
The report said the Grays Harbor Volunteer Search and Rescue (SAR) group “was assisted by numerous area SAR teams, K-9 teams, and a King County helicopter equipped with a thermal imaging camera known as FLIR” but they were not able to find any trace of Brown. The terrain that was searched was described as very steep in areas and dense with brush and blown down timber
Brown, a Humptulips, Washington resident was last seen out cutting wood with a friend above Gatton Creek. His friends and family members searched for about 6 hours before calling police Wednesday night.
The news report said Brown was dressed in a heavy jacket and investigators believe he had a lighter and flashlight with him at the time he went missing.
