State Route 532 to Camano Island Closes Friday
Some I-5 Ramps To Close Overnight Next Week

August 11, 2017

(SEATTLE, WA.)  --  The following road work, closure and traffic information comes from the fine folks over at the Washington State Dept. of Transportation (WSDOT)

SR 532 east of Stanwood approximate two week closure begins 8 at 8 pm Friday 8/11/17

If you're interested in the details of this one, you'll find a website here where you can obtain project info, passenger vehicle and truck detour routes and more. You can also check out the Mariner Moose in the video link here (is this stuff fun or what?) and watch as he tells you about this closure and much more happening around the area this weekend.

SR 9/SR 204 open house next week

You can join the WSDOT project team for an open house from 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, Aug. 16.  There will be a presentation from 6:15 to 6:30 p.m. to share the recommended preferred alternative for improving congestion in this busy area. If you can’t make that 15 minute window, no worries mate. WSDOT staff will be around at  the event to chat with you about what’s coming next for the SR 9/SR 204 intersection in Lake Stevens. The open house will be at Hillcrest Elementary School in Lake Stevens.

I-5 ramps to and from Everett Mall Way to close overnight next week

Night owls around the Everett Mall who need to go to or from I-5 should plan for a longer trip next week, Aug. 13-18. The southbound I-5 off-ramp to Southeast Everett Mall Way will close from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. overnight Sunday through Wednesday.

The northbound Southeast Everett Mall Way on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. overnight Tuesday through Thursday. Signed detours will be set up while contractor crews grind and pave portions of the ramps. This weather-dependent work is part of a preservation project on SR 526.

A full closure of Southeast Everett Mall Way/Broadway in both directions is tentatively scheduled for overnight Saturday, Aug. 19. Drivers can check the Snohomish County Construction page for updated closure information.

Be ferry prepared

If you’re catching a ferry this weekend – know that mechanical issues with the Salish have the Coupeville/Port Townsend route down a boat and sailings. You could experience extra traffic on the Edmonds and Mukilteo routes as travelers avoid those Whidbey Island delay

If you’re headed to the San Juan Islands expect the normal summer weekend traffic PLUS the Doe Bay Fest traffic leaving Anacortes. Consider walking on, if you are able, to cut some time out of your wait. Parking is available in Anacortes, with a short walk to the terminal

Looking for the total eclipse experience?

If you’re headed down to Oregon for the solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21st know that thousands of others are too. Plan extra time into your trip. The folks in the Vancouver WSDOT office - along with their Washington State Patrol Public Information Officer - prepared this blog and video for you to help prepare for the total eclipse of the sun.
