(DICKSON, TENN.) – A Tennessee TV station, WZTV Fox 17 News says it has learned that a man from Dickson, Tennessee, Joseph Daniels told police he beat his 5-year old non-verbal, autistic son to death on a coffee table because the boy had urinated on the floor.

Daniels has since been charged with murder.
The little boy had been reported missing by his father last month, prompting a wide scale search by hundreds of volunteers. No trace of the child has been found.
The TV report says after repeated questioning by police, Mr. Daniels admitted beating his 5-year old son Joe to death and that the boy's urinating on the floor triggered his violent attack.
Since the boy’s body has yet to be recovered, finding traces of urine on the floor at the Daniels home “could support the confession, but finding the body could prove the child was murdered and that this was not an accident.”
Finding urine traces from the boy in the home, where the father said they would be, could be critical to any prosecution since Tennessee state law prohibits a conviction based on a confession alone.
