Two people die in head-on crash on Highway 2 near Snohomish, WA
June 12, 2018

Chronicle staff

(SNOHOMISH, WA.) – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) says two people lost their lives in a three-vehicle collision Monday night on Highway 2 four miles east of the city of Snohomish in Snohomish County.

The crash occurred about 10 pm on the busy highway at Three Lakes Road.

The patrol report says a red 2003 Nissan pickup truck was westbound on the highway at Three Lakes Road and two other vehicles – a red 2008 Dodge Caravan minivan and a black 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck – were eastbound at the same spot on the highway, with the Ford F150 behind the Dodge Caravan.

For reasons unknown, the red Nissan pickup truck crossed over the centerline and crashed head-on into the Dodge Caravan, says the WSP accident report. The black Ford F150 then crossed the centerline and hit the rear end of the Dodge Caravan.

Both the Caravan minivan and the Nissan pickup were totaled in the crash, the cause of which is under investigation. It was not immediately known if drugs or alcohol were involved.

The patrol report says killed at the scene were the driver of the Nissan pickup truck and the driver of the Dodge Caravan. Names and hometowns were witheld pending notifcation of family.

Not injured in the accident were:

…...Passenger in the Ford F150, 39-year old Wesley J. Henderson of Wenatchee, WA.
