(NATIONAL) -- There's a lot of people across this country that are mad as hell and not pleased with the corporate/big business/white nationalist friendly Trump administration's plan to kill Internet neutrality (e.g., Net Neutrality).
It's a move that critics say will allow huge media companies to take defacto control over the Internet by being able to throttle Internet speeds where and when they want and to make a financial killing off that corporate control of the information super highway.
Ergo, there's a mass nationwide demonstration set today for picketing at Verizon stores across the country.
Here in our state there will be protests in front of the Bellevue, Seattle, Sequim and Marysville Verizon stores to name a few. Find out more info here.
In 2015, when people who had at least a bit of common sense were running the government, the FCC voted to prohibit changes that would allow corporations to make you and your family and neighbors dance to a corporate tune on the Internet.
They did that by adopting a policy called neutrality. But before and since then corporations have been dreaming of the day when a corporation friendly US government would give them what they've been salivating for over a very long period of time.
That government is here and now. But no need to get angry about that. Get even.
Remember, the mid term elections are not far off. Remember when you vote which political party (now the party of White Nationalists and guys like Alabama's Roy Moore) and which politicians went out of their way to kill net neutrality and hand over the Internet to huge media companies for corporate donation money. :)
