WSP Detectives Seeking Witnesses To "Wrong Way" Fatal Crash on SR 18 August 09, 2018

(KING COUNTY, WA) – Detectives with the Washington State Patrol are looking to talk with any witnesses to a “wrong way” fatal crash that occurred over thje past weekend in King County.
At about 9:46 pm on August 5th, the Washington State Patrol (WSP) received reports of a serious collision westbound on State Route 18 in the area of the Issaquah/Hobart Road.
When troopers got there, they were able to determine that a Silver 2008 Honda Pilot had been traveling “eastbound in the westbound lanes of SR 18 and struck a 2003 Acura TL.”
A man, the 50-year old driver of the Acura was pronounced deceased at the scene and the 68-year old driver of the Honda, also a man, was transported to Overlake Hospital.
“Due to the causing vehicle traveling the wrong way on the freeway, the driver was placed in custody for investigation of Vehicular Homicide,” said a state patrol statement. “The collision is still under investigation at this time.”
