Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of President-elect Donald Trump and one of his closest confidants, will be joining the White House as a senior adviser to the president, Trump announced Monday.
Kushner, who like Trump has no experience in government, is expected to advise Trump on a wide range of issues including government operations, trade deals and Middle East policy, according to a member of Trump's transition team.
John Nichols, a pioneering political blogger, the author of 18 books and a man who writes about politics for The Nation posted the tweet you see at upper right Monday. It has to to do with one of Kushner's views on the election and race, as in racial.
According to the Washington Post, "Trump relied heavily on Kushner's advice during the campaign...but ethics experts have raised questions about whether Kushner's role in the new administration will run up against a federal anti-nepotism law and about how he will separate himself from his real estate business to avoid conflicts of interest."
Jared Kushner is co-owner of Kushner Companies in New York and like his father in law is very wealthy. In 2006 he bought the New York Observer newspaper.
Kushner's business dealings have come under scrutiny since Trump won the election.. The New York Times reported last week that Mr. Kushner was working on a deal with a major Chinese financial group with close ties to the Chinese government.
