CLICK TO ENLARGE Photos: Wash. State Patrol (WHATCOM COUNTY, WA.) -- The Washington State Patrol says a felony arrest warrant has been issued for the driver of a car that was involved in a fatal crash last summer. August 28, 2016 at about 5:00 am, Luciano Ailon-Garcia was driving a green, 2004 Ford Explorer eastbound on Pole Road in Whatcom County, Washington. He was "traveling at an extremely high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve in the roadway," said a state patrol statement.
"The vehicle traveled off the roadway and vaulted approximately 80 feet, coming to rest in a raspberry field," according to Trooper Travis Shearer. "One passenger was ejected from the vehicle as it came to rest; the passenger died at the scene. A second passenger suffered fractures to his ribs as a result of the collision."
The state patrol says Ailon-Garcia fled the collision scene on foot without attempting to provide care for those injured. The patrol says a felony warrant has been issued for Ailon-Garcia for Hit and Run Death, Vehicular Homicide and Vehicular Assault.
Detectives believe Ailon-Garcia may still be living in the Whatcom County area. They advise anyone who sees him to NOT approach the suspect.
