(GOLD BAR, WA.) – Here’s a look at some notable police response reports for May for the Gold Bar-Index areas as compiled by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s office.
Burglaries – Two burglaries were reported in May, both with stolen firearms. In one, the guns were in a “lightweight safe” and the burglars took the entire safe which was not only illegal but rude, crude and uncalled for. (Reminds us of that line in the old Bob Dylan song, ”And the vandals took the handle……”).
Memo from the Chronicle’s Hank Turlock: If yer gonna buy a safe Bro, you wanna buy a BIG HEAVY ONE so that some day when you’re gone from yer crib, two dopers with glassy eyes and bad teeth can’t come along and just lift the thing up pretty as they please and carry it out to their stolen car. That’s just not good at all. In fact, what you do us is, you BOLT that heavy sucker right to the floor. Make those little dopers work hard and sweat for their money. That'll teach them.
The SO (sheriff’s office) says that particular M.O. (modus operandi) by the perps matches other burglaries occurring near Gold Bar in the county. One suspect, arrested this week for a county burglary, has been identified as the suspect in a Gold Bar Burglary from December 2017 and charges are being referred. A second person of interest has also been identified. Let that be a lesson kids. Crime does not pay.
CASE SUMMARY: 2 Burglaries/stolen guns, 1 Disturbance, 1 Domestic Violence arrest, 2 Drug arrests for possession with intent to deliver, 1 Malicious Mischief, 1 Runaway, 1 Theft, 1 Traffic Complaint.
DUI Collision – A vehicle smacked right into the county bridge entering Index (totally uncalled for mind you) and the driver was “not at the scene” when deputies arrived (which also was rude and uncalled for.)
But despite the suspected perp wheel-man leaving the scene, deputies did locate and arrest the suspect in Index for DUI. The letters DUI stand for Driving Under Indiana rules & regs. (Just kidding. Wanted to see if you were paying attention).
Welfare check – Deputies conducted a welfare check on three children from King County who were staying with an acquaintance in town. The investigation has been referred to CPS (Child Protective Services) and the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Therefore your Incident summary becomes: 1 CPS referral, 1 DUI arrest (county collision), 1 Public assist, 2 Civil disputes, 1 Suspicions person/prowler, 1 9-11 hang-up.
The nicely colored tables and charts (above right) compare incident types of service as reported for the Gold Bar Regional contract.
This contract has an Originating Agency Identifier (ORI) of WA0311000. (Just in case you wanna look the thing up and read it before you go nighty-night some night).
So there you go.
