The state patrol report says a 2001 Nissan Maxima 4-door was heading westbound on the highway and a 2000 Dodge Caravan was eastbound on the same road when for reasons not known, the Nissan crossed the center line of the highway and crashed into the Dodge.

Both vehicles were totaled by the impact. Killed in the accident was the driver of the Nissan identified by the state patrol as 20-year old Josie Lynn Eikenberry of Marysville, Washington who was deceased at the scene.

Injured was the driver of the Dodge Caravan identified as Pete Weaver, 63, of Monroe, Washington who was transported to Providence (Colby) Hospital in Everett.

The WSP report says it is not believed that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
