Police investigate reported sexual assault not far from high school

(SNOHOMISH, WA.) -- Deputies with the Snohomish Police Department are investigating a reported a sexual assault by an unidentified adult male that involved four juvenile girls Sunday night.

"The girls, whose ages range from 12 to 8 years-old, told deputies they were walking on a trail near the 600 block of Avenue A around 5:30 p.m. when an unknown adult male allegedly touched one of the girls, then fled the area on foot," said a police statement.

The area where the incident occurred is about five blocks east of Snohomish High School.

Police say a woman who was walking her dog in the area as well as the girls, described the perpetrator as a white male, approximately 6’ tall, 170-180 lbs., with dark brown short hair and wearing a dark red t-shirt, black basketball shorts, dark sneakers and a black back pack.

Police and K-9 units searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Anyone with information about this incident should contact the Snohomish Police Department at 360-568-0888.
