(SNOHOMISH, WA.) -- Dream Dinners, a national meal-assembly company based in Snohomish, in conjunction with Friends and Family Community Connection (FFCC), a nonprofit that strives to bring awareness to the issue of hunger, will once again team up with Snohomish High School to host a Fight Against Hunger event on Wednesday, May 10.

Hosted in the Snohomish High School auxiliary gym from 7:30 am and continuing throughout the day, organizers and students hope to raise $40,000 to package 150,000 that meals that day.
About 50,000 meals will stay local and go to the Snohomish Food Bank. The remainder will go to Haiti.
During the event volunteers will assemble food packages that have been scientifically designed to reverse the effects of malnutrition and starvation.
“We’re extremely lucky to have a partner like Snohomish High School. This is the third year the students have worked with us on an event. Dream Dinners was founded to make life easier for families everywhere, and as part of that vision we have a deep commitment to the communities we serve, and that includes our own backyard,” said Tina Kuna, co-founder of Dream Dinners.
The event is also made possible due to donations from the Snohomish Kiwanis, SYSCO, Not Yet Foundation, Harvey's Airport, Mountain View Community Church and others.
Taking the lead in organizing this year's event is Snohomish High School teacher Ben Doucette’s advanced marketing class.
“Our students have done an amazing job organizing this event, we’re so proud of their efforts,” said Doucette. “The community response has also been tremendous. More than 25 local businesses have donated to help make this event happen. Some of the sponsors will be participating as well as the kids from some of the area elementary schools.”
