Do you know an exemplary student?
Then nominate that young person for a youth achievement award

May 12, 2018

Chronicle staff

(SULTAN, WA.) – The Mayor’s Youth Achievement Award honors Sultan School District youth for outstanding performance in community service as well as politics, arts, entertainment, athletics, academics, citizenship and overcoming obstacles.

Anyone can nominate a student for this prestigious honor. Nominee forms are reviewed by the mayors of Sultan and Gold Bar, who each select one student from their respective communities to receive the award.

If you know a worthy student you’d like to nominate, contact Chris Hendrickson at chris.hendrickson@ci.sultan.wa.us for a copy of the nomination form. It’s due in by 5 pm Friday, May 18.

For more about the award click here: https://ci.sultan.wa.us/now-accepting-applications-for-mayors-youth-achievement-award/

The city is also accepting applications for Student Representative on the Sultan City Council. The student representative serves as a liaison between the city and the high school, advising on matters related to young people in the community.

The student must be an officer of the Associated Student Body (ASB) or a class representative at Sultan High School to be eligible. For consideration, students should submit a letter of interest in addition to a completed student representative application by May 31, 2018.
